The World In A State of Flex
I haven’t done any blogging to date… but there is no time better than the present.
Let me start this string of hopefully interesting with an apology, my writing is horrible and my spelling is worse. However, since I work with Flex day in and day out and have been knee deep since day one, I feel like I could share those little “gotchas” and “check these out” that I find with everyone.
Just a little bit about myself to kick this off right.
My name is Jonathan Campos, I have been “creating” for years now and in the last 2 years have seen the Flex Light. Immediately I was able to see that Flex would be important and dived head first into creating everything I could in Flex. How did I learn? By taking every project I could and doing the long uphill battle of learning while private clients expected results. I searched every website, viewed every “view source” and thanked the Lord every time I found what I was looking for.
Now I am Senior Flex Architect at Miller & Associates and creating RIAs for large companies on a daily basis. I run the Dallas Flex User Group, D-Flex (D-Flex.org), am a Flex3/AIR Adobe Certified Expert and am one of the organizers for Dallas Tech Happy Hour. I am overly excited to see the Flex community growing at the speed it is and spend much of my free time continuing to build and learn and grow others knowledge of Flex.
I have said it many times before and I will say it many times again, right now I see the industry LOVING RIA and especially Flex. As a developer Flex is easy to get into and gives plenty of room to grow and specialize. We have all seen a massive growth in RIAs coming out all over the web and I expect this to be the case for years to come.
Until then, I will soon be off to MAX and will continue to blog. Feel free to give me a shout out and ask for anything, I am more than open to share my good code (not my hacks) and will be remaking the D-Flex.org site shortly. All of the code will be shared openly when the new site launches. Good luck in your world, mine is in a state of Flex.
