Turning Components From MXML To Actionscript – Connect Presentation

In case you missed it!

A straight forward online demonstration on converting an MXML Component to pure Actionscript component. We will start the demonstration by breaking down an MXML component, define it’s parts, and then rebuild the component in Actionscript using the common overrides: createChildren, updateDisplayList, commitProperties, and measure. The benefits of this practice will be lighter weight, better performing and AsDoc compliant components.

Please let me know what you thought about the first (in a possible many) D-Flex Developer Series. I am also interested in presentation recommendations from anyone.

The presentation is available on AdobeTv at: http://tv.adobe.com/#vi+f15384v1102
