I&#039;d like to point out though that it&#039;s not a feature of Flash Builder 4 (nor was it previously a feature of Flex Builder) but rather of the Flex framework. The new way to handle states in MXML is new in Flex 4 (Gumbo) as opposed to the old Flex 3 way of doing it, by defining commands that execute as each state is entered.

The Flex framework, of course, could be used entirely separate from Flex/Flash Builder, or any IDE for that matter.
